Under the tutelage of Champion trainers Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman, The Chosen One proved to be a tenacious, versatile, and sound racehorse.

In addition to winning the Gr.2 Herbert Power Stakes (2400m) at Caulfield and a Gr.3 Frank Packer Plate (2000m) at Randwick, The Chosen One finished a game third in a vintage Gr.1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) behind Verry Elleegant and Anthony Van Dyke.

Placed at Group One level on 10 occasions, The Chosen One retired with over $2.7 million in stakes and three Champion New Zealand Stayer titles.

Bred by the Dennis Brothers, The Chosen One is out of the stakes performed Flying Spur mare The Glitzy One, from a family they have cultivated for generations that includes Champion Filly The Jewel and Group One winners La Diosa and The Perfect Pink.
