- Shocking was a star Australian racehorse winning both the Gr.1 Melbourne Cup and Gr.1 Australian Cup. His Melbourne Cup effort is best remembered for his dominance at the finish after he and jockey Corey Brown sat three-wide for much of the two mile trip.
- Shocking showed his versatility and speed when winning the Gr.2 Makybe Diva Stakes over the Flemington mile, his win in part leading to this race being upgraded to its current Group 1 status.
