Description
WROTE (IRE) (Bay 2009-Stud 2014). 3 wins at 2, Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf S., Gr.1. Sire of 165 rnrs, 91 wnrs, inc. SW Pulchritudinous (New Zealand Oaks, Gr.1), Wrote to Arataki, Best Seller, Read About It, SP Imprevu, Love Letter, High Providence and of Black Riddle, Right Now, Unscripted, Amend, (The) Creator, Chill Chibi, Popthebubbles, Overrated, Volcanic Spark, Nancy She Wrote, Sotirio, The Letter, Top Top Tea, etc.
He is the most precocious son of High Chaparral, who crossed famously well with Kiwi mares during his time in New Zealand. His international race career featured a win in the G1 Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf, and placings in the G2 U.A.E. Derby, G2 Newmarket Royal Lodge Stakes and G2 Leopardstown Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial.
A phenomenal type, he was rated A+ on conformation by well-known Kentucky-based Bloodstock consultant Cecil Seaman, an expert in bio-mechanics. Less than 0.5% of all horses measured by Seaman fit into the A+ category which includes Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Affirmed and American Pharaoh.
2024 Book 2 Yearling Sale average $71,357 (ranging from $17,000 – $120,000). His progeny have sold for up to $110,000 in the sale ring and privately now for well over $1 million!
Brent Gillovic, Highview Stud
“He’s very much in the image of his sire – a powerful, correct horse and the only son of High Chaparral to have won a Group One two-year-old race. He was rated an A+ on conformation by Cecil Seaman, who is an expert in biomechanics. He has a fantastic temperament, he’s very well behaved and great to do anything with.”
Alan Porter, Pedigree Expert
“High Chaparral has enjoyed success when bred over certain branches of the Northern Dancer line. Wrote is out of a mare from the Danzig line through Green Desert, but should cross well over mares from other branches of that line, including Danehill. Both Danehill and his son Danehill Dancer are broodmare sires of stakes winners by High Chaparral.”
