Westbury Stud is a well-known thoroughbred horse breeding base in New Zealand with a history of more than 30 years. It is committed to breeding world-class racehorses and showing excellent competitiveness in international competitions. The farm is owned by Mr. Gerry Harvey, a well-known Australian entrepreneur. With his outstanding business vision and deep passion for thoroughbred horses, he has made important contributions to New Zealand’s horse racing and breeding industry.
Westbury Stud is distributed across two picturesque ranches, of which the farm in Karaka is the earliest established base. In the past decade, the farm has further expanded, adding two new ranches in the Waikato region, covering a total area of more than 525 acres, providing the best conditions for the growth of racehorses, which is also New Zealand’s traditional advantage in breeding world-class racehorses.
Over the years, Westbury Stud has bred many champion racehorses, including top racehorses such as Bonneval, Sofia Rosa, Good Luck Friend, Ruud Awakening, Grout, Buzz Lightyear, Il Quello Veloce and Ruby Clipper. In addition, the farm has also cultivated many winning horses and excellent racehorses, including Mascarpone, Miami Bound, Julius, Little Giant, The Inferno, Lord Arthur, Ranting, De La Terre, Hypnos, Romancer, Music Magnate and Night’s Watch in recent years.
